Text Box: residence is damaged or destroyed by a catastrophic event or natural disaster.  This program provides for the purchase of such essentials as food, water & temporary shelter. Funds are held in a nonprofit, tax exempt account at the American Airlines Federal Employee Credit Union & are Administered by volunteers with The Wings Foundation. No administrative costs ensures that all moneys collected go directly towards assistance.  The criteria for distributing funds are federally established & governed.  The account is funded primarily from the proceeds earned through the voluntary recycling of aluminum cans on board all American Airlines flights. In 2004, The FADRF distributed $38,000 in direct response to the California fires & numerous hurricanes across Florida. In 2005, The FADRF distributed $97,000 in assistance to AA Flight Attendants directly affected by the devastation of hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast. The Wings Foundation expresses their sincere gratitude for the recycling cooperation & assistance of the catering companies “LSG Sky Chefs” & “Gate Gourmet”.
