  • Does Wings Still Recycle?

Yes! In fact we have never stopped recycling since we began in 1989. The cans are collected by working flight attendants & Thanks to the coopreration of "LSG Sky Chefs" & "Gate Gourmet", the cans are sold for recycling. We are grateful for everyone who participates in aluminum can recycling.

  • Does American Airlines get any money from the recycling efforts?

No! American Airlines does not recieve money from recycling revenue. The FADRF is solely funded by recycling profits.

  • Which stations/bases Recycle?

We get this question allot. Many, MANY stations do recycle, & the Wings Recycling Committee continues to work towards getting more stations onboard with recycling. We are optimistic that even while some do not currently participate, they may begin in the near future. Wings strives to see that everyone recycles on every flight as many stations that do not recycle often deadhead cans back to stations that do.

  • How can I ensure that all cans on my flights are recycled?

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3

  1. Separate opened cans from unopened cans.
  2. Empty any remaining liquid & place into an insert.
  3. Place inserts into carts, & place green recycling cart tag on the handle.
