The Gateway City of the Great American West, St. Louis is best known for its Gateway Arch standing along the banks of the great Mississippi River & Ted Drewes "Concretes". In 1803 this was the starting point of the Lewis & Clark westward expedition, commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson for the exploration into the Louisiana Purchase Territory. Currently there are 206 American Airlines Flight Attendants based in St. Louis. Of this number approximately 49% actively contribute to Wings through monthly payroll deductions.
